The technical outcome of the PhD thesis is the development of a web-based application for the courses of Electronics I and Nanoelectronic Devices. The learning content of the web application will be designed by the professors, who teach these courses. The design and implementation of the technical part will be carried out by the doctoral candidate. The technical outcome of the PhD thesis is the development of a web-based application for the courses of Electronics I and Nanoelectronic Devices. The learning content of the web application will be designed by the professors, who teach these courses. The design and implementation of the technical part will be carried out by the doctoral candidate. The research objectives are:1. The design of the content of the web-based applications for inquiry-based learning in Electronics and Nanoelectronic Devices.2. The way in which students learn when using the application, and how well they perform.3. Can inquiry-based learning engage the students in the educational processes?4. Is inquiry-based learning a viable alternative to classroom instruction? To answer the research questions, information will be collected from the students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of West Attica. A student sample will use the application on computers located at the university. Using a screen capture program, the researcher will collect quantitative and qualitative data regarding how students interact with the content. Additional information will be collected while using the application. Students' views on the online application and inquiry-based learning will be collected through questionnaires and interviews.
